The well established and successful Basketball Academy has seen many students realising notable achievements academically, personally and in the field of sport.
Members of the Basketball Academy are able to develop their sporting talent alongside their academic or vocational studies.
Should you decide to become a member, your progress both on and off the court will be monitored closely to ensure that you remain up to date with your studies.
A structured basketball training programme is incorporated into your programme of study.
You will be expected to attend training on Thursday mornings each week and at the end of each day, along with the opportunity to attend the local fitness centre during your free lessons.
In addition, there are opportunities for you to complete EB qualifications in Refereeing, Coaching and Table Officiating.
This extensive basketball training programme is delivered by our specialist coach, Mr Andy Guppy, who is also a member of the teaching staff.
The Basketball Academy competes locally and nationally with great success and is instrumental in helping all students to reach their full potential.
On the back of the success of the Basketball Academy, a newly formed Cricket Academy has been introduced for Sixth Form students and it runs along the same lines as the Basketball Academy.
Cricket training takes place in the morning before the start of lessons and also on Mondays at the end of the day.
You will be trained by a professional Warwickshire County cricket coach and will compete in matches at local and national level.
